A Day at Augusta

Today we drove over to Augusta (a lot further than we anticipated) to view the Tuesday practice day for this year's Masters tournament. Though we enjoyed seeing some of the big name golfers, our real purpose was just to see the famed golf course itself. And it did not disappoint - a true testament to what an apparently unlimited amount of money can create: not only the incredibly green, rolling course itself, but also the gorgeous landscape that surrounds it.

Trudyblog vs. Bambi

I leave for one weekend, and this is what happens - the deer move in and devour my very carefully tended pansy collection! And a certain unnamed person who was left in charge didn't even notice... .

 

So now I have replaced the sad remains with a variety of flowering plants - an experimental garden, if you will - to see what, if any, other flowers are to the deer's liking. No signs of snacking so far.
